  • Infrastructure Maintenance: Ensures all network infrastructure is operating efficiently by performing routine maintenance tasks, such as firmware upgrades and configurational adjustments. Compliance with security policies and standards across the network infrastructure.
  • Installation and Deployment of New Infrastructure: Coordinates the planning, installation, and configuration of new network systems, ensuring that they are integrated smoothly into the existing infrastructure. Oversees testing, troubleshooting and works closely with vendors and internal teams to ensure projects meet specifications.
  • Technical Coordination: Acts as a coordinator for tasks carried out by Administrators and support teams, ensuring activities are completed to a consistently high standard. Provides clear guidance and prioritises tasks to meet operational demands as and when they arise.
  • Collaboration and Support: Works with senior engineers and the network manager to align technical activities with broader team goals. Offers hands-on support for current operations and new projects while ensuring adherence to established policies and standards.
  • Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Supports the upskilling of Administrators through structured knowledge-sharing and guidance. Ensures the overall growth and technical capability of the wider tech team.
  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Serves as the first point of contact for diagnosing and resolving network issues. Provides fast, effective solutions to minimise operational disruptions and escalates critical problems to the senior engineer when necessary.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintains accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and ongoing tasks. Prepares performance reports, tracking issues and work completed to ensure transparency and keep the team informed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identifies areas for improvement in network processes, tools, and technologies. Recommends changes to enhance the team's performance and operational efficiency, contributing to the continuous improvement of infrastructure management.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Strong analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving complex network issues. Ability to quickly implement effective solutions to minimise downtime and operational disruptions.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate tasks with administrators and support staff, ensuring high standards are maintained in both daily operations and project execution.
  • High attention to detail in maintaining accurate records of network configurations, tasks, and changes. Capable of generating reports to keep stakeholders informed of performance and issues.
