Were seeking an experienced Senior Materials Sourcing Manager to and drive the creation of innovative, functional products for our passionate consumers.
Youll manage and execute fabric , establish technical approvals, and perform risk assessments in line with critical path timelines. Collaborating with our dynamic Design, Sourcing, and Product Management teams to deliver a diverse, exciting material portfolio.

WHAT YOU\’LL BE DOING:
- Overseeing the material development from concept to commercialisation, ensuring quality standards and alignment with creative direction, sourcing, and product strategies.
- Standardising raw materials manufacturing processes to ensure global consistency.
- Serving as the main contact for all material-related inquiries within Gymshark.
- Fostering an environment promoting innovative thinking, collaboration, and teamwork.
- Analysing cost components and the global material market to support negotiation strategies.
- Managing and negotiating material prices to meet seasonal margin targets using open costing templates.
- Supporting strategic business plans for Tier 3 & 4 suppliers.
- Leading material selection meetings, guiding teams to improve efficiency and meet margin targets.
- Developing and mentoring a team of fabric and trim developers to reach their full potential.
- Managing supplier onboarding for Tier 3 & 4 suppliers and evaluate supplier capabilities.
- Driving innovation and sustainability in materials, including fibres, fabrics, trims, dyeing, and finishing processes.
WHAT YOU\’LL NEED:
- 10+ years of material development experience in the apparel industry.
- Deep understanding of the apparel design and development lifecycle.
- Expertise in fabric application to meet aesthetic, functional, technical, and commercial needs.
- Extensive knowledge of materials and their engineering and manufacturing processes.
- Strong knowledge of fabric properties and performance testing.
- Expert in yarn spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, printing, and finishing processes for performance fabrics.
- Proficient in garment dry and wet processing, dyeing, and finishing.
- Strong negotiation skills with advanced understanding of material costing.
- Line management experience is required
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and address material issues.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, adept at delivering presentations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, PLM, and Excel.
This is a hybrid role and would require the successful candidate to attend at least 3 days a week in GSIQ, Solihull, UK.
