This role will lead the IRL (In Real Life) Programme; ensuring feasibility, scope, plan and execution sets us to deliver our IRL strategy (which includes new store openings, wholesale partnerships and business optimisation) and its intended benefits. You will be required to manage a team of project managers, within a complex multi-function, multi-specialism Programme team; with accountability for the leadership, management and successful delivery of a range of strategic change and value driven related projects.
Responsible for:
- Reporting to the IRL Head of Programme, this role leads the IRL Programme and Strategy across all regions.
- Bringing together delivery functions across People, Product, Finance, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Property, Retail Operations, Legal, Technology & Brand.
- Managing the IRL Programme team and supporting them with their onboarding and development within the organisation.
- Scoping, defining & managing overall objectives; deliverables; work packages and tasks across the Global Programme.
- Planning, monitoring & managing a team to deliver a complex x-functional programme, simultaneously, from start to finish (from scoping & kick-offs to closure and BAU hand-off).
- Responsible for the integrity and stability of the IRL Programme; adapting for and supporting all constituent workstreams and delivery styles.
- Maintaining and administering programme plans, including the critical path; risks; issues; dependencies and budget (where needed).
- Responsible for project resource-planning; ensuring suitable and adequate resource and representation is assigned.
- Responsible for reviewing and challenging Project Working Groups and stakeholders to deliver projects to plan.
- Identifying, managing, mitigating and/or escalating programme-level risks, whose impact threaten Retail, IRL or the wider business.
- Reporting programme progress against success metrics, to the Head of Programme, stakeholders and business leadership through regular, accurate reporting.
- Acting as the key point of contact for the IRL programme.
- Evaluating programme status and outputs of PIRs; identifying lessons learned and executing plans to act on these in future with senior stakeholders.
- Championing of the IRL Programme ambition and strategy; providing support, challenge, and relentless enthusiasm to deliver the best possible outcomes.
- Showcasing IRL programme as what good looks like to the wider business; through utilising the IRL Programme framework.
- Championing continuous development; driving simplification & consistency for projects and programmes within GS (tools, processes, documentation, ways of working).
Accountable for:
- Ownership and management of the IRL Programme; across the IRL programme and business; keeping activities aligned across all workstreams; ensuring on-time, to-budget delivery.
- Realisation of all Programme outcomes and benefits, as defined by the IRL Programme.
- Ownership of Programme objectives, deliverables, and framework (structure, delivery plan, incl. critical path; budget; RAID).
- Chairing Programme meetings, communicating progress regularly and providing accurate reporting to IRL & GS Leadership, incl. Steering, Executive & Board Committees.
- Prompt & effective resolution of issues; assessment & management of risk (to projects and programme), seeking and recommending solutions to mitigate.
- Accountability for programme budget, where appropriate.
Essential Skills:
- Extensive experience of Programme management within a dynamic and fast paced programme environment.
- At least 10 years change delivery experience.
- Experience of delivering global retail projects.
- Solid experience of managing a Programme team and mentoring.
- Change-native; with evidence of successfully delivering complex, x-functional projects as part of large-scale, transformational programmes of work.
- Experience designing, building & delivering complex projects, with high levels of business change; and sustainably embedding into BAU.
- Experience in managing projects with multiple internal and external work streams.
- Solution-orientated mindset with an ability to work accurately at pace and cope with ambiguity.
- Effectively managed project budgets; owning & facilitating related decisions.
- People-first mindset with vast experience in people management (matrix / dotted line).
- Proficient with office and project management software (MS Project).
- Proficient with project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 and or Agile; with a thorough understanding of techniques and methodology.
- Strong experience in design of and process improvement within change delivery.
