Supporting the People Partner cohort to translate delivery of Gymshark’s business strategy, you will support the development and alignment of the Retail People Plans to drive performance whilst ultimately protecting and maintaining the unique Gymshark culture and delivering a world class employee experience.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Act as the lead advisor on ER matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, sickness absence, and performance management cases, ensuring timely and fair resolution.
- Provide expert coaching and guidance to managers on handling ER issues confidently and in line with employment law and company policy.
- Manage occupational health referrals and support reasonable adjustments.
- Oversee maternity, paternity, and family leave processes, ensuring smooth transitions and compliance.
- Administer and track performance improvement plans and probation reviews, ensuring consistency and fairness.
- Understand the business strategy and people plan in line with business priorities.
- Be a culture ambassador, leading by example, demonstrating the Gymshark values and supporting with the implementation of our performance culture.
- Ability to travel across the UK store estate as/when required (London / Manchester / Amsterdam).
- Build trust and strong relationships with senior stakeholders, people managers and individual contributors.
- Administration support of learning & development solutions.
- Support delivery and tracking of mandatory training (i.e. manager capability, probation manager training).
- Conduct exit interviews and provide ER-related reporting and analytics to inform retention strategies.
- Monitor absence triggers, probationary periods and annual leave, ensuring compliance in line with relevant policies.
- Ensure people policies are clearly written, communicated and up to date with current employment legislation.
- Update trackers for People Ops to process (reporting line changes, grade changes etc).
- Support the writing of job descriptions and ensure functional, geography or channel job descriptions are up to date.
- Support the execution of any functional change or restructure processes.
- Understand and support long-term workforce planning and organisation design initiatives as required.
- Contribute to the execution of functional pay review process (market rate changes, promotions, step ups and bonus distribution etc).
- Ad-hoc support of people change initiatives as required.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- HR experience within an advisory or specialist role in a fast-paced multi-site retail business (must have a passion for the retail environment).
- Extensive experience managing end to end ER casework.
- Ability to be flexible to meet the needs of a rapidly changing retail environment.
- Willingness to travel regularly between stores (UK and EU).
- Experience in influencing leaders.
- Excellent knowledge and awareness of UK employment legislation and practice.
- Great verbal and written communication for a wide range of audiences.
- Able to work autonomously, in a risk-taking, fast paced environment.
- Commercial Awareness and a creative problem solver with the ability to think laterally and understand the cost and value drivers within a competitive business environment.
- High degree of professional ethics, integrity and gravitas.
- Excellent judgement and analytical skills.
- CIPD Qualified.
This role would require the successful candidate to attend at our London, Soho office with travel to stores, London, Manchester and Bicester.
