Gymshark is one of the world's original social-first brands, built on the power of community, culture and conversation.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a strategic social communications leader to help shape how our brand shows up across platforms and connect audiences to our biggest brand moments.

This is not a traditional social media role.

As Head of Social Comms, you'll sit at the intersection of Brand, Creative and Marketing, transforming big ideas into platform-native social ecosystems that spark engagement, drive culture and support commercial growth.

You'll be responsible for defining our social communications strategy, influencing brand storytelling and leading a high-performing team to deliver best-in-class social communications.

If you're a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of social platforms, culture and brand-building, this is an opportunity to make a significant impact within one of the most recognisable brands in fitness.

What you'll do

  • Define and lead the long-term social communications strategy across all social platforms.
  • Establish clear platform roles, audience objectives and growth priorities aligned to brand and business goals.
  • Translate major brand campaigns into connected social ecosystems that drive conversation, engagement and community participation.
  • Develop quarterly communications plans that bring together brand moments, product launches and always-on activity.
  • Identify emerging platforms, trends and cultural opportunities to keep Gymshark ahead of the curve.
  • Shape how the brand participates in and leads conversations across fitness, training and broader culture.
  • Act as a guardian of brand consistency, ensuring strong and cohesive storytelling across all channels.
  • Partner with Brand, Creative, Marketing and Influencer teams to embed social strategy into campaign planning from the outset.
  • Champion a social-first approach to creative development and content creation.
  • Build communications frameworks, rollout plans and content sequencing strategies that maximise campaign effectiveness.
  • Define success metrics across the social ecosystem and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Translate performance data and audience insights into actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Develop governance frameworks that support effective decision-making and protect brand reputation.
  • Lead, coach and inspire the organic social team, creating an environment where people can thrive and deliver exceptional work.
  • Act as the senior social communications voice across campaigns, launches and strategic planning discussions.
  • What you'll need
  • 8+ years' experience in social strategy, communications planning or brand marketing within a consumer-facing brand or agency environment.
  • Proven experience building social communications strategies that work across multiple platforms and channels.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate brand strategy into platform-native social ecosystems, not just content plans.
  • Strong understanding of how social communications contribute to brand growth, customer acquisition and commercial performance.
  • Expertise across Instagram, Tik Tok and You Tube, including platform behaviour, audience trends and content performance.
  • Experience using social analytics and listening tools to identify insights and inform strategic decisions.
  • Strong ability to turn complex data and insights into clear, compelling recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams and working closely with Creative, Brand, Marketing and Commercial stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership experience, with a track record of developing talent and building high-performing teams.
  • A systems-thinking mindset with the ability to connect big ideas to scalable communications frameworks.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness combined with a genuine interest in culture, community and storytelling.
  • Outstanding communication, relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
