Social Media & Content Producer
Salary: £28,000 to £32,000, dependent on experience
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Reports to: Head of Digital Marketing
Location: Preston
Gym Gear is looking for a Social Media & Content Producer to join our in‑house marketing team and take day‑to‑day ownership of our organic social media channels.
This is a hands‑on role for someone who can develop ideas, get behind a camera and turn real projects into engaging content.
You could be filming a new gym installation, producing content from a DEKA event, photographing new equipment or creating social coverage from an industry exhibition.
What we’re looking for
You will plan and create organic content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube, including:
- Social media planning and content ideas
- Filming and video editing
- Photography and image editing
- Captions and platform‑specific content
- Artwork and document production
- Basic website and asset support
Video is a major part of the role.
We are looking for someone who understands visual storytelling, not simply someone who can place clips on a timeline.
You should be confident with editing, pacing, colour correction, colour grading, audio and motion elements, and comfortable filming in real‑world environments.
The software you use is less important than the quality of the finished work.
You should have practical experience in:
- Organic social media content
- Professional video editing
- Filming and photography
- Colour correction and grading
- Image editing
- Branded artwork or document production
A degree is not essential. Portfolio quality and practical experience are more important.
A genuine interest in fitness, training, sport or gym culture is highly desirable.
Industry opportunities
The role may include opportunities to attend:
- Selected DEKA events
- Independent gym launches and competitions
- Elevate
- PerformX Live
- Gym installations and customer facilities across the UK
You will have the opportunity to meet gym owners, athletes, coaches, operators and industry partners while creating original content from inside the fitness industry.
Location and travel
The role is based at Gym Gear’s head office in Preston and will involve travel to customer sites, installations and events.
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for selected events and will be planned in advance.
