GXO are currently recruiting a Transport Coordinator to join our busy operation in Newark, working closely with drivers, planners, and operational teams to ensure a safe, compliant and efficient transport operation during the night shift. This role is offered on a full‑time, permanent basis, working a 4 on 4 off night shift pattern. The hours of work will be 18:00 – 06:00.

  • You’ll be paid a salary of up to £27,753 per annum, plus a monthly night shift allowance of £83.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Coordinate and oversee the night transport operation, ensuring all deliveries and collections run safely and efficiently.
  • Act as the first point of contact for drivers, handling queries, incidents and route issues professionally.
  • Monitor and manage compliance with driver hours, tachograph regulations and the Working Time Directive.
  • Liaise with planning and operational teams to manage changes and resolve service disruptions.
  • Accurately record transport activity, incidents and performance data for handover and reporting.
  • Ensure strict adherence to operator licence requirements, health & safety standards and company processes.
  • Support service levels by proactively identifying risks and escalating issues where required.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Previous experience in a transport environment with a strong knowledge of transport compliance, including drivers’ hours and tachograph regulations.
  • Confident communicator, comfortable handling driver and stakeholder conversations over the phone.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Competent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office; experience with Transport Management Systems is desirable.
  • A proactive, customer‑focused mindset with a solutions‑driven approach.
