Here at GXO, we’re looking for a Senior Operations Manager to support our Currys contract based in Newark. This is a pivotal leadership role within a fast-moving retail distribution operation, where health and safety, customer service, availability, and peak readiness are key to success.

You’ll be responsible for leading operational delivery across a complex, high-volume environment, ensuring the operation consistently supports Currys’ retail proposition from store replenishment through to home delivery, while building a strong, engaged, and high-performing team.

This is a full time, permanent position, working 4 on and 4 off 06:30 to 18:30.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £65,000.00 per annum and 22 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Lead the operation with health & safety as a top priority, ensuring full compliance with legal, company, and Currys standards.
  • Build strong relationships with GXO and Currys stakeholders, ensuring service levels and contractual expectations are met.
  • Embed a proactive safety culture, holding managers accountable and driving continuous improvement in safe systems of work.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the operational management team to deliver strong performance across service, productivity, and cost.
  • Drive operational planning and control to ensure consistent delivery in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Use data and insight to identify risks, trends, and opportunities, implementing improvement plans that enhance safety and performance.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Proven experience in an Operations Manager role within a retail, distribution, or similarly complex operational environment.
  • A strong track record of health & safety leadership, with the confidence to challenge, influence, and lead by example.
  • Experience managing and developing managers, building engaged and accountable teams.
  • Solid operational and commercial understanding, balancing safety, service, cost, and people priorities.
  • Confident communication and stakeholder management skills at a senior level.
  • Resilience, decisiveness, and the ability to perform under pressure in a high-volume environment.
