We are currently looking for a HR Communications and Engagement Lead to join our Curry’s operation in Newark. You’ll work as part of the on-site HR team to provide efficient and effective communication across the contract and develop an engagement strategy to improve employee morale.
This role is being offered on a full-time, 12 month fixed term basis. The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00, flexibility will be needed to cover events out of hours.

- You’ll be paid a salary of up to £35,000 per annum.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Improve all communications and engagement on site, thinking of new innovative and technological ways of supporting the communication initiative and strategically delivering on our overall engagement agenda.
- Gain support and buy in from the wider operational teams when delivering employee engagement activities that help drive an improvement in the overall colleague experience.
- Establish a consistent communications channel, bringing communications into the digital age.
- Successfully build, manage and deliver the year-by-year engagement calendar.
- Establish a group of peers both inside and outside of the contract to build a larger engagement network, leading project groups to reimagine the wellbeing and D&I calendar.
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proven experience in a similar communications and engagement role, or able to demonstrate these skills as part of a wider role.
- Excellent people management skills with the ability to build and maintain credible and strong professional relationships at all levels.
- Be an effective influencer and communicator, able to positively engage and empower others.
- Strong IT skills including Word and Canva, able to be creative with new ways of working.
