If so, we at GXO have an opportunity for you! Join us as our Transport Operations Manager, for one of our customers based in our Bellshill depot.
You’ll drive profitability and operational excellence for our transport function through efficient fleet management, effective traffic planning, and lead safe/compliant, high‑performing operations by embedding robust Health & Safety practices. This is a full time, permanent position with contracted hours of 37.5 per week (Monday to Friday: Days, with flexibility for business needs).

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead safe, compliant operations by ensuring full adherence to Health & Safety and duty‑of‑care requirements, including risk assessments, incident investigations, and accurate reporting
- Develop and deliver operational strategy covering fleet, subcontractors, shunting, driver training, induction, performance, and customer service, while monitoring and reporting on all operational outputs
- Manage, motivate, and develop staff and drivers across all sites, overseeing recruitment, training, performance, and all HR processes including discipline, grievance, and attendance
- Drive operational performance and profitability through effective cost control, strong inter‑departmental collaboration, and consistent adherence to quality assurance standards
- Strengthen customer relationships through clear communication, proactive service improvement, and participation in management and customer review meetings
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Fully flexible to meet all customer and operational requirements, with strong experience working effectively within a team environment
- Proven background in managing a fast‑paced transport operation, with solid understanding of O‑Licence obligations and Working Time Directive
- Ability to build productive relationships and colleague engagement and morale (unionised environment experience beneficial)
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to motivate and influence others
- Professionally qualified, ideally CILT and CPC certified, demonstrating strong industry knowledge and compliance expertise
