Are you interested in building a career for yourself as an Engineer? Would you like the opportunity to work on our bespoke packaging line, utilising hi-tech 6-axis pick and place robots and fully automatic palletisers? Here at GXO, we are looking for a multi-skilled Technician to join our team based at our Heinz site in Wigan. The position is to cover the maintenance of the Company’s Repack operation and NDC automation equipment. This is an exciting opportunity to support our customer with their new production line coming in!

This is a full time, permanent position. This role will be on a 3-shift rotation, 6.00 to 14.00, 14.00 to 22.00 and 22.00 to 6.00 (Sunday to Thursday for nights, and Monday to Friday for the other shifts).

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £40,655 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Maintain and support our production lines to ensure maximum uptime and performance
  • Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and lead root cause analysis to prevent future issues
  • Drive continuous improvement across safety, quality, and engineering standards
  • Support breakdowns and servicing across key areas, while keeping the workspace clean and compliant
  • Implement new production line equipment

  • Multi-skilled in electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, with a passion for continuous improvement (maintenance of manufacturing or production line essential)
