Are you a hands-on leader with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for stock accuracy? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Inventory Team Leader to take charge in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The successful candidate will bring experience in inventory control, WMS (ideally DLX/Red Prairie), and advanced Excel skills, along with the ability to lead teams and keep operations running smoothly.

Here at GXO, we're looking for an Inventory Team Leader to join our VMO2 contract at our busy shared-user site in Wellingborough. As an Inventory Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of Inventory Clerks, ensuring full compliance with inventory and operational processes. You will work closely with the Inventory Manager and FLM to maintain accurate stock control and support operational excellence.

This is a full-time, permanent position working on an any 5 out of 7 days shift pattern, between the hours of 18:00 - 02:00.

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Allocate and review resource & workload to ensure that tasks are completed in a timely manner to meet all SLA expectations, calling out any potential risks.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed accurately, these tasks include but are not limited to - cycle counts, SKU updates, status changes, owner updates, stock investigation and resolution.
  • Complete briefs/reviews/appraisals/recruitment/HR processes/H&S escalations in line with company standards.
  • Chair/attend department meetings and provide effective handovers.
  • Liaise and develop relationships with the internal team and external customers.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • A proven track record of successfully leading operational teams in a fast-paced warehouse setting is essential, preferably within an inventory-focused operation.
  • Experience with using warehouse management systems, ideally DLX/ Red Prairie.
  • Experience in an inventory/stock control role.
  • A good knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, filters, lookup functions, conditional formulas, conditional formatting, charts).
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on maintaining on-site engagement.
  • Ensure effective communication is delivered to colleagues and management teams daily.
