Job Description Are you an experienced Automation Engineer? Here at GXO, we are looking for a Automation Shift Engineer to join our team at our prestigious, Kraft Heinz site in Wigan. This is a state-of-the-art automated facility which includes: Conveyors, Rail mounted cranes, Pallet wrapping and label machinery, Automated layer picker, Barcode scanner and PLC’s. You will ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the plant, equipment and overall automated function on site. This will be achieved through planned preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, reactive maintenance, condition monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives. In addition, you will play a key role in maximising equipment uptime by reducing downtime and supporting with operational performance. This is a full time, permanent position. There are 7 rotations and then 18 days off using annual leave allowance in addition to 4 off. We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £52,350.48 per annum inclusive of night shift allowance, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities according to maintenance schedules and manuals Diagnose and repair Electrical, Mechanical and Controls system faults Conduct inspections and monitor condition of equipment to identify potential failures before they occur and implementing prevention initiatives Experience in an automated process environment including PLC’s, conveyors, Auto wrappers, Automatic S/R machines, closed loop communication systems, bar code scanners would be a benefit ~ Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering (essential) ~ NVQ Level 3 (desirable) ~18th Edition Electrical wiring (desirable) ~ GXO is a leading provider of cutting-edge supply chain solutions to the most successful companies in the world.
