Here at GXO, we are recruiting for a Transport Teams Manager to join our team in Sherburn (LS25), for our customer Sainsbury's.
Within our 550,000 sq. ft multi temperature distribution centre, you'll play a key role in our transport operation, with responsibility for the effective and timely dispatch to our customer's retail and convenience stores, using the customer's latest integrated Transport Management System. The role is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis. Shift pattern of 4 on 4 off, 18:00 to 6:00.
Pay, benefits and more: We're looking to offer a salary of up to £34,170.00 per annum (plus £3,000 night allowance) and 23.5 days annual leave (inclusive bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts.
What you'll do on a typical day:
- Operational performance, achieving weekly and monthly targets through effective use of transport systems (Integrated Transport Management System and Yard Smart)
- Fleet & compliance management, overseeing driver and transport colleagues, ensuring adherence to company guidelines, Road Traffic Act, and health & safety regulations
- Communication and shift briefings, being clear with expectations, sharing success and performance updates, company news and maintaining communication with stores
- Team leadership & union relations, motivating and guiding the transport team while fostering positive relationships with unions and their representatives
- Service excellence & flexibility, delivering first-class service to the store network and undertaking additional duties to support smooth departmental operations
