Join our growing night team and enjoy a true Monday to Friday work-life balance! We are expanding our night shift operation following a major contract win, creating fantastic opportunities for experienced Shunters who are looking for stable, consistent work without weekend commitments.
As a Night Shift Shunter, you will be employed on a full-time, permanent basis, working Monday to Friday, with shifts running from 22:00 to 06:00. You will have 40 hours per week guaranteed, giving you both security and a great work-life balance.

What you will do on a typical day:
- Move trailers safely around the yard using a tug unit, ensuring they are positioned correctly for loading and unloading
- Work closely with Transport Managers, Yard Marshals, and Warehouse Supervisors to coordinate trailer movements and keep the workflow on track
- Maintain a safe working environment by following all site Health & Safety procedures and reporting any hazards immediately
- Assist with general yard organisation, keeping the area tidy and ensuring trailers are logged, positioned, and tracked correctly
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- A valid Class 1 driving licence, CPC, and Digi Tacho card
- A clean driving record with no more than 6 penalty points (excluding DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements)
- Previous shunting experience - desirable but not essential for the right candidate
- A strong awareness of site Health & Safety standards and the safe movement of vehicles in a busy yard environment
- The flexibility and resilience to work outdoors in all weather conditions
