We’re on the lookout for a Payroll Technical Analyst (Systems) who’s passionate about driving change, streamlining processes, and making a real impact.
In this pivotal role, you’ll be the engine behind our payroll automation journey—partnering with stakeholders, diving deep into systems, and delivering smarter, faster solutions. If you\’re detail-driven, tech-savvy, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is your chance to shape how payroll works across the business.
You’ll be based out of our head office in Northampton, where we also offer level a of home/flexible working, provided you’re able to attend the office as and when required.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £50,000 per annum. In addition, we offer days 25 days annual leave, plus inclusive of bank holidays and the option to purchase additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Manage all BAU Payroll reporting and analytic activities
- Develop the Payroll change program working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure best in practice processes, tracking, reporting, and escalations are in place for all changes
- Be responsible for ensuring all Payroll change is delivered accurately on time and within budget
- Support the continuous development of the payroll platform and resolutions
- Support the pipeline of change with third party providers and internal stakeholders, including writing of test scripts, UAT and expected outcomes
- Be a subject matter expert for the payroll platform including alignment to statutory compliance
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- A solid background in payroll with a strong track record of working with large amounts of data and reporting, you’ll need to be a confident user of a data analytics tool such as Power BI, Google Analytics or Tableau, SQL knowledge & advanced MS Access. If you have knowledge of Java or Python knowledge this would be big tick for us!
- Familiarity of working with Service Now
- Strong analytical and project management skills with the ability to identify and resolve problems with minimal supervision
- Hands-on and in-depth experience of working with ADP Global View, SAP or similar payroll products
- Excellent business analysis skills including communication, influencing, listening and organizational skills
