Here at GXO, we're looking for an Automation Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team at a cutting-edge distribution operation in Crick, Northamptonshire. You'll play a vital role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and performance of a highly automated warehouse environment, supporting a range of technologies including conveyors, sortation equipment, and automated handling systems.
Working closely with operational and support teams, you'll be responsible for:
- Preventative and corrective maintenance activities
- Fault diagnosis and root cause analysis
- Continuous improvement initiatives that keep the operation moving
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified engineer who enjoys working in a complex, fast-moving environment and is committed to safety, quality, and engineering excellence. This is a full-time, permanent position working in the Panama shift of 2-2-3 or 2-3-2 schedule from 07:00 to 19:00.
We are looking to offer a salary of up to £51,000.00 per annum, and 24 days annual leave (including bank holidays). What you need to succeed at GXO:
- A recognised electrical and mechanical engineering qualification, such as ONC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent
- Experience maintaining warehouse automation technologies, including conveyors, sortation systems, AGVs, or similar automated equipment
- Strong fault-finding capabilities within a complex, fast-paced operational environment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across operational and technical teams
- A proactive, detail-focused approach with a commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and delivering high engineering standards
