Here at GXO, we are working together with B&Q and are looking for Drivers Mate to join our Store to Home team in Hedge End, Southampton (SO30 4HW). You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, on an 'Any 5 days out of 7' pattern, contracted to 40 hours per week, starting at 07:00. This role will require flexibility as you will be working on a 3-week rota pattern (provided in advance) including weekends.

- An hourly rate of £12.21, that is an annual salary of £25,396.80

What you will do on a typical day:
- Work as part of a two-person team delivering products to customer premises (room of choice) on a multidrop basis - an average of 16 drops per day off peak and 24 drops per day in peak season
- Assist the delivery driver in parking and manoeuvring a company vehicle as well as loading and unloading of vehicles as and when required
- Provide effective customer service while ensuring goods are delivered in excellent condition
- Ensure that customers are kept informed of their estimated time of delivery and any issues are communicated in a polite and courteous manner
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Experience of dealing with multi drop home delivery preferred but not essential
- Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal
- Willingness to complete manual handling tasks such as pulling, lifting, and pushing
- Can do attitude with a knack for problem solving
- Willingness to undertake pre-employment Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS Check)
- Be prepared to commute to Hedge End, Southampton (SO30 4HW) for the required shift pattern
