Here at GXO, were looking for a Class 1 Lead Driver in Sherburn to combine hands-on driving duties with a key role in developing and supporting our driver workforce. Youll be responsible for delivering driver coaching, inductions, assessments, and compliance support while remaining actively involved in day-to-day transport opportunities. This is a full-time, permanent position. You will work any 5 from 7, working 45 hours per week covering both AM and PM shifts so flexibility is key! What youll do on a typical day: Lead by example, promoting safe driving behaviours, compliance, and exceptional customer service standards Deliver driver inductions, coaching, mentoring, and practical training for new and existing drivers Conduct driver assessments, licence checks, vehicle familiarisations, and competency reviews Support transport management with compliance activities, investigations, performance reviews, and development plans What you need to succeed at GXO: A full UK valid Class 1 (Category C + E) licence, Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card Strong Class 1 driving experience with strong knowledge of Driver Hours and Working Time Directive regulations Previous experience coaching, mentoring, training, or supporting drivers No more than 3 current penalty points No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements with a conviction date within the previous 5 years We engineer faster, smarter, leaner supply chains.
