Here at GXO, we are looking for a proactive and confident HR Advisor to join our dynamic HR team in Bridgwater, supporting our NHS Supply Chain contract. This is a hands-on, site-based role where you will be the go-to expert for all things Employee Relations (ER), helping managers navigate complex cases and drive positive outcomes.

This is a full-time, permanent role, working Monday to Friday, covering the hours of 09:00 till 17:00. We understand that flexibility is important, so for the right candidate, we are happy to consider a reduction in weekly hours.

What you will do on a typical day:

  • Lead and manage ER cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence, and flexible working requests
  • Coach and train line managers to build confidence and capability in ER case handling
  • Collaborate with the HR Operations Partner to identify trends and implement proactive solutions
  • Support absence management through data analysis, Occupational Health liaison, and strategic initiatives
  • Administer recruitment processes, contract changes, and onboarding activities
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and contribute to improving survey scores and workplace culture

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • CIPD Level 3 qualified (minimum)
  • Strong experience in managing high-volume ER cases
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including working with Trade Unions
  • Intermediate Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, IF, SUMIF, COUNT)
  • A flexible, organised, and customer-focused approach
