We’re looking for a Transport Planner to join our team on our City Plumbing Supplies contract in Warrington. Working within a team of two, you will be driving efficiency and reducing cost delivering excellent service to our customer. You’ll be responsible for route planning, along with developing & managing real relationships with customers and drivers. You’ll ensure that our transport department always runs in an efficient and effective manner.
You’ll work on a Monday – Friday basis, 10:00 – 18:00, however, some flexibility is required.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £30,750.00 and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Multi-site route planning in GTS/ESP with national driver and vehicle allocation for day and night schedules, for both customer and other on-site operations
- Monitoring WTD in day/week/reference periods to apportion a balanced average, and planning driver workloads ensuring compliance with drivers’ hours and WTD legislation
- Maintaining and planning backhaul schedule with customer and internal GXO suppliers to minimise running costs and maximise revenue
- Working with the Compliance Manager to ensure equipment service intervals are adhered to, workshop movements are planned, and VOR’d fleet is not used
- Presenting information to the site management team encompassing all of the above when required
What you need to succeed at GXO
- Experience of working as a Transport Planner or similar operational role, performing route planning with strong geographical knowledge of the UK
- Knowledge of WTD regulations is essential
- Proficient use of Microsoft and/or Google packages is essential
- Experience using TMS applications such as Tachomaster and Paragon is essential
- Strong communicator both written and verbal with attention to detail
