Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for a Transport First Line Manager to join our Costa Whitbread team in Wellingborough. You will take shift responsibility for a team of Transport Clerks and Drivers, implementing and monitoring individual and team objectives and targets whilst ensuring company policies, procedures and legal requirements are adhered to. To continuously coordinate resources/activity in real time to ensure that the shift completes all agreed routes on time and fully, in excess of the minimum key performance indicators.
Responsibilities
- Daily management of a team of Drivers, Clerks and agency staff on shift
- Ensure colleagues adhere to Working Time and EU Driving Regulations
- Ensure full compliance in accordance with food handling procedures (HACCP) and BRC guidelines
- Provide leadership for team members, ensuring that their issues are understood, discussed and resolved in a timely manner
- Lead the team to meet and exceed operational objectives, such as service provision, productivity, and fuel KPIs
About the role

Understanding of EU / Working Time Regulations and Tacho management, including the use of TachoMaster and CheckMaster with experience of working in a Trade Union environment desirable.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and coach teams to ensure excellent performance
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong IT skills, including warehouse systems and Microsoft Office
Benefits
This is a full‑time, permanent position, working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 18:00 – 06:00. We offer a salary of up to £38,645.76 per annum (inclusive of shift premium) and 23 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays).
