Pay, benefits and more: You’ll be paid a salary of up to £47,000 per annum, you’ll also receive 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days so you can enjoy a positive work-life balance. What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Ensure all vehicles are maintained to legal and operational standards
- Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules
- Oversee defect reporting, rectification, and follow-up processes
- Liaise with internal workshops and external maintenance providers
- Conduct technical assessments and inspections of fleet vehicles
- Support procurement and specification of new vehicles and equipment
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proven experience in fleet engineering or vehicle compliance management
- Strong mechanical knowledge of commercial vehicles (HGVs, LGVs)
- Relevant engineering or transport qualifications (IRTEC, CPC, Transport Manager CPC)
- Familiarity with compliance systems and matrix management tools (Tachograph analysis, driver CPC tracking, vehicle defect reporting)
- Excellent understanding of UK transport legislation and vehicle safety standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
