Do you take pride in providing best-in-class engineering services to your operation? Are you looking for a fast-paced environment, within a collaborative team? If so, we at GXO have the role for you! As our Engineering Team Leader, you will provide support for the management of the site engineering team (team size 9). You’ll be leading your team to success for our customer Nestle Purina, based in our Hams Hall depot. This is a varied team leader opportunity focusing on communication, investigation and resolution of operational engineering issues, along with leading upcoming engineering projects.
This is a full time, permanent position, with working hours of Monday to Friday 8.00 to 16.00. Due to the nature of the operation, some flexibility will be required outside of usual working hours…this is logistics after all!
Pay, benefits and more: We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £57,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Manage daily operations and maintenance of automation and machinery, including out-of-hours support, to ensure departmental KPIs are achieved
- Plan and oversee maintenance activities across proactive, reactive, and scheduled maintenance programs
- Provide rapid, effective solutions to engineering issues, collaborating with other departments to maintain service quality
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Health & Safety standards, support training and safe systems of work for the engineering team
- Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation, including new projects, efficiency ideas, and deputising for the Engineering Manager when required
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Qualification Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with the skill set of working at height
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills, along with developing your team also
- Experienced in site equipment and processes engineering
- Experience of project work including design, planning, installation, snagging and implementation (beneficial)
