Are you looking to utilise your savvy reporting skills? Do you pride yourself on your attention to detail? At GXO Doncaster, we are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our fast-paced, customer and colleague driven Home Delivery Network. Reporting into our Finance Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in preparing weekly reports, producing payroll reporting, invoicing and assisting with month end procedures. This is a full time, permanent position. Monday to Friday, with flexibility of working from home (with Wednesdays being a requirement to be based in the office).
Pay, benefits and more: We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £28,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Deliver timely and accurate weekly and monthly financial reporting across payroll, agency costs, small customer financials, journals, invoicing, and KPIs, ensuring GL accuracy, double‑entry compliance, and audit readiness.
- Provide meaningful insight into labour usage, cost drivers, and variances, clearly highlighting risks, trends, and opportunities to support Finance and Operations decision‑making.
- Own payroll reconciliation and variance management, proactively manage payroll queries, and challenge managers and teams to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to finance policies.
- Act as a proactive team player who can work independently, manage workload effectively, support colleagues across Finance, and continuously learn across different finance disciplines.
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Strong experience in Excel and data manipulation.
- Proven experience within payroll administration, with strong attention to detail.
- Good time management and driven by pace and accuracy.
- Working towards AAT qualification.
