Here at GXO, we’re looking for 2 proactive, hands‑on Automation Engineering Assistants to join the Zara contract based in Crick.
You’ll join our resident engineering team and play a key role in keeping our advanced automation systems running smoothly. Responsibilities include:
- Preventative and corrective maintenance on state‑of‑the‑art technology, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and delivering on KPIs.
These are full‑time, permanent positions. You’ll be working on the Panama Shift 2-2-3 over 14 days covering 07:00‑19:00.

We’re offering a salary of up to £42,000 per annum, and 21 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Perform maintenance tasks and root cause analysis on automation breakdowns.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency.
- Complete technical audits and detailed reports.
- Engage with stakeholders and build strong working relationships.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards and site policies.
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Previous proven experience with warehouse automation (AGVs, conveyors, sorters).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications (Level 1 or 2, or working towards).
- A proactive, detail‑focused approach with a flexible mindset.
