Are you hands-on, detail-driven and passionate about creating a safe, high-performing workplace? Do you enjoy being visible on site, influencing behaviours, and making a real difference to how people work every day? If you’re proactive, organised and ready to support a busy operational environment, this could be the role for you.
Here at GXO Logistics, we’re looking for a QHSE Coordinator to join our retail distribution operation in Worksop. This is a busy, high-volume site where safety, quality and service are critical and where you’ll play a key role in supporting the QHSE function and embedding strong standards across the operation. Working closely with the QHSE Manager and site leadership team, you’ll help promote and drive a culture of safety engagement in line with the Road to Zero philosophy and improve performance through the implementation of relevant management systems, current standards and legislation; maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by the identification and control of risks, leading to the prevention of accidents and causes of work-related ill health.
This is a full time, permanent position, predominately working Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00. However flexibility is essential, this is logistics after all!
Pay, benefits and more:
You will be paid a salary of up to £32,000 per annum. You’ll also receive 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days so you can enjoy a positive work-life balance. Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts. In addition to our continued focus on internal promotions, over 55% last year!
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Support the QHSE Manager with all aspects of health & safety, including audits, inspections and incident investigations
- Maintain accurate records, trackers and reporting, ensuring compliance data is always up to date
- Carry out site walks and safety checks, promoting a visible and proactive safety culture
- Assist with accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and driving corrective actions
- Coordinate contractor documentation, permits and RAMS to ensure safe, controlled site activity
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Experience in a health & safety or QHSE support role, ideally within a warehouse or logistics environment
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification is essential, NEBOSH General Certificate (or working towards) would be an advantage
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- High attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach
- Confident communicator who can engage with colleagues at all levels
- Proactive, hands-on mindset with a genuine focus on safety and continuous improvement
