Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Shift Manager to join our team in Leyland, supporting our customer, Waitrose.

As a Warehouse Shift Manager, you’ll provide leadership and guidance for the warehouse teams across departments, ensuring that they have all the tools they need to do their role and that the operation runs smoothly. You’ll be safety focussed and have experience of driving continuous improvement and know your stuff when it comes to warehouse management systems.

This is a full time, permanent position, working an any 5 from 7 shift pattern of 14:00 till 22:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Manage and coordinate the work activities across the departments of warehouse colleagues, whilst ensuring a customer focused approach with a responsive nature to customer requirements.
  • Co‑ordinate customer requirements, ensuring procedural conformance, customer satisfaction and that contractual obligations are met.
  • Carry out the timely reporting of performance KPI and financial information, identifying trends and acting on areas for development.
  • Ensure the operation meets or exceeds budgeted targets set up for export operation with the use of key operational cost drivers and P&L management.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Previous experience supervising or managing a large team in a complex, fast‑paced warehouse environment.
  • An understanding of key operational cost drivers and P&L or cost centre management, health & safety and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent team leadership skills with the ability to develop and coach teams to ensure excellent performance.
  • The ability to perform under pressure, efficiently managing conflicting priorities whilst keeping a level head.
