Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for an Industrial Sewing Specialist to join our team in Peterborough (PE3 7EZ), supporting our customer, Mountain Warehouse. This is a full-time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week with 'any 5 days out of 7' shift pattern. Daily working hours are 7.5 hours per day with an unpaid break of 30 minutes.

What you will do on a typical day:
- Responsible for assessing repair requirements, carrying out a wide range of sewing and garment restoration activities, and maintaining accuracy, consistency and productivity within a warehouse or production environment
- Supports continuous improvement by sharing technical knowledge, upholding health and safety standards, and contributing to the development of a skilled and efficient repair operation
- Conduct quality checks on completed repairs, ensuring stitch quality, seam construction and overall garment presentation meet expected standards
- Maintain an organised, clean and safe working area, ensuring tools, equipment and materials are stored appropriately
- Identify and resolve basic sewing and machine-related issues, including thread, tension and stitch quality concerns
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Previous experience as an industrial sewing machinist, sewing operator, garment repair machinist, sample machinist, or similar role
- Experience working with different garment types and fabrics
- Ability to carry out basic garment repairs to a good quality standard
- Good attention to detail and ability to identify when a garment is suitable for repair or should be escalated
- Comfortable working in a warehouse/production environment
