Due to continued growth, we’re on the lookout for Class 1 Drivers to join our Gateshead team, working with Valeo Snack Foods – the makers behind Kettle Chips, the UK’s favourite hand‑cooked brand. You will be working on a full‑time, permanent position, Any 5 out of 7, Sunday to Thursday with start times between 04:00 and 06:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Deliver full loads to various locations across the North, always ensuring safe and efficient transport
  • Support shunting operations between the factory and warehouse, keeping site movements running smoothly
  • Carry out trailer swap operations in Wakefield, following all safety and compliance procedures
  • Maintain the highest levels of hygiene and housekeeping across the depot, vehicle, and assigned trailer
  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections for defects, damage, or wear and tear, reporting any issues promptly
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork and documentation within set timeframes, ensuring full compliance with regulations and operational standards

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • A full UK driving licence with C+E category
  • Less than six points on your licence (as well as no DD, DR, DG, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT endorsements)
  • An up‑to‑date CPC and Digital Tachograph
  • A positive attitude, excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently
