The predicted salary is between 18000 - 25000 € per year.

To gain experience and support in the workplace to complete an apprenticeship and obtain qualifications in the field. To support the Education Department to make the best use of data by maintaining information quality, using modern systems and technologies, and collaborating with teams across the Council to improve processes and contribute to digital projects.

Main Duties:

  • Use information management systems to ensure the accurate transfer, storage and management of schools’ data.
  • Develop technical skills in Excel, Power BI, SQL and education systems such as Bromcom and One Profile in School.
  • Support the development and use of artificial intelligence approaches in an appropriate and responsible manner.
  • Work closely with managers and departments across the Council to gather information and support digital projects.
  • Maintain data quality by checking, processing and ensuring consistency across systems and datasets.
  • Support compliance with information governance legislation and data protection processes.
  • Contribute to cross‑departmental work that aligns with the data stream within the Council’s Digital Plan.
  • Follow the Council’s policies on health and safety, equality, data protection and carbon reduction.

Essential Qualifications and Training:

  • Qualified at Level 3 (at least) with either: 3 A Levels at grade C or above, or an equivalent Level 3 vocational qualification (e.g., BTEC National Level 3 Diploma, Merit or above).

Essential Specialist Skills and Knowledge:

  • A full driving licence (occasional travel will be required).

Language Needs:

  • Listening and Speaking – Intermediate Level: Be able to hold a conversation on a number of diverse topics daily, discuss cases related to the field of work, follow discussions in Welsh, be able to contribute to the conversation and answer questions.
  • Reading and Comprehension – Intermediate Level: Understand everyday correspondence on familiar issues at work, understand longer reports in Clear Welsh, and pick up main points (help with vocabulary may be required).
  • Writing – Intermediate Level: Be able to write purpose letters, emails and short reports in Welsh and English using vocabulary and simple phrases familiar to the field of work (they will need to be checked before being sent out).
