Your opportunity
The primary role of the CFO Business Manager will be to provide the CFO and Deputy CFO with crossâfunctional support, governance, and coordination. This will involve taking the lead on tasks and requests that are crossâdepartmental in nature and/or require inputs from various Finance teams to produce a consolidated overview. The role will require strong working relationships with the Finance Senior Management team and with relevant counterparts in other areas of the organization, acting as the representative for the function, driving delivery of projects and initiatives, and effectively tracking and measuring progress against agreed deliverables.
Key areas of support will include:
- Business planning and forecasting
- Governance, Risk, and Control management
- People and engagement initiatives
- Financial management
- Management information including reporting
- Departmental communications and events including Quarterly Town Halls
- Quarterly Finance process support
- Creation and coordination of Board materials
Responsibilities
- Business Planning and forecasting
- Governance and coordination for both BAU and Project budget submissions
- Governance and coordination of annual Business Planning across all Finance teams; consolidation of strategic departmental priorities into one Finance roadmap
- Risk and Control â track and report departmental status across all 2nd and 3rd line activities, in particular the monitoring and reporting of incidents, RCSAs, Compliance monitoring reviews, and internal/external audit status and actions.
- Finding and increasing efficiency or risk reduction (e.g. EUDA rationalisation)
- People and engagement â provide support for people initiatives including Career paths, Rewards and Recognition, Training and Development, Talent programmes, Employee Engagement survey
- Analysis and action planning â organisational design support, Management Information and Reporting. Coordinate efforts across Finance to ensure timely and accurate publication of MI KPIs, Ways of Working and Finance scorecard data and any other adâhoc data requests.
- Compile, review, and update materials for quarterly Boards and other cyclical requirements on behalf of the CFO and Deputy CFO.
- Cost Assessments â assist on overall budgetary control across Finance as required; work on firmâwide cost control initiatives; review/report headcount trends and vacancies/recruitment submissions.
- Department Communications and events â management meetings and offâsites assistance with agendas and materials; organise Quarterly Town Halls speakers, content, prepare relevant materials; manage team communications such as strategic announcements, newsletters; intranet gateway site updates; assist with team events.
- Projects and delivery of initiatives â develop multiâyear projects for Operations Technology & Data requirements; lead the integration and embedding of M&A transactions within Finance departments (Accounting, FP&A, and Tax); champion adoption of AI/Copilot across teams; drive all firmâwide initiatives or implementation of change; identify and support process improvements across Finance.
