Role Overview

Are you an empathetic and caring individual looking for a career in supporting victims and witnesses of crime? Our Victim Services Department are recruiting Victim and Witness Care officers to help guide those affected by crime through their criminal justice journey. The role is hybrid and offers excellent learning opportunities for those who want to progress in this area of work and policing.

As a Witness Care Officer, you will contact victims and witnesses in accordance with the Witness Care Framework and maintain contact at each key stage of the Criminal Justice process.

Witness Care Officers offer a client-focused service, providing information, advice, practical assistance and will act as a liaison to victims and witnesses, the courts, Crown Prosecution Service and other agencies.

The fixed term contract duration is a period of 12 months or earlier, should the departmental review conclude that the FTC is no longer required in less than 12 months time.

Internal staff will also be prioritised.
