We are looking for someone to join us as an Assistant Forensic Scientific Officer within our Drugs Unit – in our Tri-Force Forensic Alliance.
A small specialised, dedicated team based in Bridgend South Wales Police HQ. Work is Monday to Friday 8-4, with a degree of flexibility required for additional hours.
About the Role and Your Key Responsibilities
- Maintain reagent and stock levels and carry out general laboratory upkeep, cleaning, and environmental monitoring.
- Undertake the examination of exhibits relating to suspected drugs following an agreed strategy set by a Forensic Scientist.
- Provide simple forensic reports based on testing to assist the courts.
Skills and Experience
- Background in chemistry and previous laboratory experience.
- Transferable working forensic skills and understanding are attractive.
