This is a full-time, on-site Estimator role located in Kingston Upon Hull. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing cost estimates and tender submissions across electrical, mechanical, and renewable energy projects. Daily responsibilities include:
- Analyzing project requirements
- Interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Estimating labor, materials, and time requirements
- Collaborating with the design and project management teams
- Liaising with clients and suppliers to obtain quotes
- Preparing competitive bids
- Providing insights for value engineering where appropriate
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in project estimation, including cost breakdowns, resource allocation, and time planning
- Experience interpreting technical drawings, plans, and project specifications
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and renewable energy systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing cost estimates and tender submissions
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with clients, suppliers, and team members
- Proficiency with estimation software and tools
- Understanding of British Standards and compliance requirements related to M&E and renewables projects
- Previous experience in project lifecycle management, including installation, commissioning, and maintenance is beneficial
- An academic background in engineering, construction, or a related discipline is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
