GVR Solutions are working with a well-established and growing specialist drylining and interior contractor, based in Essex delivering high-quality projects across the commercial, residential, education, healthcare and high-end interiors sectors.Due to continued growth and a strong forward order book, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute QS who understands the specialist subcontracting environment and is looking for a long-term position with a progressive and reputable contractor.Key responsibilities of the Senior Quantity Surveyor will include:Managing the commercial and contractual aspects of multiple projects.Preparing, submitting and agreeing interim valuations and payment applications.Managing variations, change control and associated commercial negotiations.Reviewing and agreeing subcontractor and supplier accounts.Preparing cost reports, forecasts and cash-flow projections.Monitoring project costs against budgets and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.Managing applications, payments and final accounts.Negotiating and agreeing variations and claims with clients and main contractors.Reviewing contracts, specifications and project documentation.Supporting project teams with commercial and contractual advice.Maintaining accurate commercial records and reporting regularly to senior management.Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, main contractors, suppliers and subcontractors.Assisting with the development of junior members of the commercial team.The Senior Quantity must have/be:Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor within the specialist subcontracting sector.Strong experience in drylining, ceilings, partitions, suspended ceilings or interior fit-out.A solid understanding of construction contracts, commercial management and subcontractor accounts.Experience managing projects from procurement through to final account.Strong knowledge of valuations, variations, applications, CVRs and forecasting.Excellent negotiation and communication skills.A commercially driven and proactive approach.The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.Strong attention to detail and good numerical and analytical skills.Relevant construction/commercial qualifications are desirable although strong industry experience will also be considered.If you are interested in the Senior Quantity Surveyor role then please get in touch.
