Quantity Surveyor required in Essex. GVR Solutions are currently representing a very well-established main contractor, based in Essex, who due to positive increase in project workload after successfully winning new projects are in the market for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team. As a main contractor, they work on a range of new build and refurbishment projects in the Education, Healthcare and Public sectors with project values from £500K - £5m.
Salary: £50K - £60K + package. Flexibility 1 day a week from home, after a bedding-in period.
Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor:
- Preparing and submitting valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Managing subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and payments
- Cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- Ensuring projects are commercially viable and compliant with contract requirements
- Supporting project delivery teams with contractual and commercial advice
Requirements for the Quantity Surveyor:
- 3+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a main contractor
- Experience working for a main contractor on both new build and refurbishment projects
- Proven experience working on projects of a similar value
- Strong understanding of JCT contracts
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field (preferred)
