GVR Solutions are currently working with an established and growing main-contractor based in Chingford, who are looking to appoint a junior estimator to join their team. The business is looking to expand its pre-construction team with an ambitious individual who is keen to develop their estimating career within a supportive environment.
As a business they specialise in projects in the high-end residential, heritage, commercial & hotel sectors.
The Junior Estimator must have/be:
- 1-3 years of experience in estimating or in a commercial role, ideally within main contracting.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and organisation skills.
- Eagerness to learn and develop under the guidance of the senior commercial team.
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks under guidance.
- Some exposure to take-offs, pricing, or tendering processes.
- Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing.
Key responsibilities of the Junior Estimator:
- Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates and tender submissions.
- Carrying out basic quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
- Maintaining and updating estimating databases, rates, and cost information.
- Assisting senior estimators with cost planning, budgeting, and tender documentation.
- Supporting the preparation of tender packages and submission documents.
- Ensuring all work is carried out accurately, efficiently, and in line with deadlines.
- Assisting in post-tender clarifications and handover to the commercial/project teams.
