Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. Responsibilities of the Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- Manage the commercial performance of multiple projects simultaneously.
- Prepare, submit, and negotiate interim valuations and applications for payment.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
- Produce accurate cost value reconciliations (CVRs) on a monthly basis.
- Identify commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Manage project variations, change control processes, and compensation events.
- Prepare and agree final accounts with clients and main contractors.
- Review and administer contracts including JCT forms and bespoke subcontract agreements.
- Ensure contractual compliance and protect the company's commercial position.
- Manage notices, extensions of time, loss and expense claims, and contractual correspondence where required.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, main contractors, consultants, and supply chain partners.
- Attend project meetings and provide commercial support to operational teams.
- Work collaboratively with site teams to ensure commercial and operational objectives are aligned.
- Present project performance updates and financial forecasts.
- Provide strategic commercial input to support business planning and growth.
Requirements of the Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
- Experience working for a specialist subcontractor, ideally within carpentry, joinery, fit-out, interiors, or related trades.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, particularly JCT forms.
- Excellent knowledge of valuations, variations, CVRs, subcontract management, and final accounts.
- Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
