GVR Solutions are currently working with an existing client of ours who are a specialist interior contractor. They primarily deal with a number of commercial projects across London. They are looking for an experienced Design Manager to join their rapidly growing design team. The right candidate will be able to take a strong lead in projects and have extensive knowledge within joinery or any other interior trade.

The responsibilities of the Design Manager are:

  • To lead and manage the design team in creation and development.
  • Ensure that all designs meet functional, aesthetic, and performance specifications while adhering to the relevant industry standards.
  • Ensure the team follows a structured product development process.
  • Support team members with design challenges, offering solutions and technical advice where needed.
  • Work closely with the directors to understand their specific needs and provide regular design updates, ensuring a collaborative and transparent design process.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and design reviews to track progress and maintain alignment with the company’s product goals.

The Design Manager must have/be:

  • A minimum of 3 years of design managerial experience
  • 3 years of subcontract or manufacturer experience
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Be able to work to tight deadlines and provide high levels of customer care.
  • Construction/design-related further education preferred.
