Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Contracts Manager looking to progress their career within a dynamic and specialist subcontracting environment.
Responsibilities of the Contracts Manager:
- Lead multiple live projects, ensuring alignment with contract scope, programme, and budget.
- Provide clear, decisive leadership to site teams, fostering accountability and excellence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, project teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Represent the company professionally, upholding its reputation for collaboration and quality.
- Review and monitor project programmes weekly, ensuring timely delivery.
- Conduct weekly site briefings to align activities with programme goals.
- Submit weekly progress reports including: Weekly dropline, 2-week lookahead, Health & Safety updates, Quality and budget status.
- Develop and manage the material procurement register, identifying long-lead items.
- Coordinate with Site Team to ensure timely and economic procurement of labour and materials.
- Reconcile weekly site reports against operative invoices and flag inconsistencies.
- Ensure resources are available in advance to meet programme requirements.
- Assess cost and programme impacts of Instructions and update project accounts accordingly.
- Ensure timely updates to the programme and financial records following signed Instructions.
- Oversee snagging and quality inspections, ensuring compliance with specifications.
- Monitor completion and handover processes, ensuring areas are signed off by the Contractor.
- Collaborate with the Commercial Management Team to report on project costs including: Contract works, Labour and materials, Instructed variations.
- Participate in monthly valuations with the Contractor’s Commercial Team.
- Analyse and manage the safety implications of cost and value decisions.
As a Contracts Manager you must have / be:
- Robust experience in construction project delivery and team leadership.
- HND/Degree in Construction or Engineering.
- Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate multi-disciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of RAMS, programme sequencing and cost control.
- Cooperative, flexible and resilient under pressure.
