GVR Solutions are currently working in partnership with a well-established, medium-sized construction company based on the Essex/East London border who are seeking a motivated Business Development Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing and reputable contractor with a strong track record across residential, commercial, education and public sector projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving new business and securing tender opportunities, particularly within London and the surrounding areas.
The client is happy to look at Business Development professionals from other industries and/or sectors. They are more interested in finding the right person with the right attitude. This is a permanent, office-based role in Essex, with regular travel into London. You will be responsible for identifying new project leads, engaging with clients, consultants, and procurement bodies, and ultimately helping to secure new work for the business.
Key Responsibilities:- Identify and pursue new tender opportunities, particularly in London
- Carry out business development visits and meetings with prospective clients
- Make outbound cold and warm calls to build new business relationships
- Follow up on leads, referrals, and previous contacts to generate new opportunities
- Research and explore relevant frameworks and procurement routes
- Develop and maintain relationships with developers, consultants, and stakeholders
- Proven background in business development within the construction industry
- Comfortable with outbound calling and face-to-face business development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, self-motivated, and target-driven
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to London
