Assistant Quantity Surveyor required in Essex. GVR Solutions are currently representing a very well-established main contractor, based in Essex, who are actively in the market for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. As a main contractor, they primarily work within the Commercial, Hospitality and Bespoke Residential sectors providing fit out and refurbishment services.

As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will:

  • Assist in establishing a client’s requirements and undertake feasibility studies
  • Ensure the commercial targets are achieved including project and programme cost, quality and time
  • Assist the costing of the project, budgeting, and cash flows
  • Carry out measurement for valuations
  • Analyse progress and reporting
  • Identify opportunities and risks
  • Attend post tender and pre-contract meetings
  • Prepare summary reports for the client and other stakeholders

The Assistant Quantity Surveyor must have/be:

  • Quantity Surveying/Construction Degree Qualified or Construction related education
  • 1-2 years minimum experience in a Quantity Surveying position
  • Must be computer literate
  • Full driving licence required
  • CSCS card ideal but not a necessity
  • Any construction experience is a bonus but not necessary
