A General Site Labourer/Maintenance Operative plays a key role in keeping the site running smoothly by supporting production, maintaining facilities, and ensuring a safe, clean working environment.
MAIN TASKS
- General Labouring
- Assisting others around the site as required.
- Loading and unloading materials, tools and equipment.
- Moving materials around site safely and efficiently using manual lifting equipment or forklift trucks.
- Preparing and clearing work areas.
- Following instructions from supervisors or site managers.
- Maintenance & Upkeep
- Carrying out basic repairs to the facilities, machinery & equipment.
- Cleaning and maintaining workspaces, machinery and facilities.
- Replacing consumable items (light bulbs, filters, batteries etc.).
- Reporting issues or hazards to management.
- Health & Safety
- Following site health & safety procedures at all times.
- Wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Keeping walkways clear and work areas tidy.
- Identifying risks and maintaining a safe working environment.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Accredited forklift truck driver training within the last 3 years
- Good physical fitness and ability to handle manual work
- Knowledge of tools and maintenance techniques
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Awareness of health and safety practices
- Flexible and willing to carry out a variety of tasks
- Full, clean Driving Licence.
This is a permanent position, subject to a 3-month trial period. Hours: 39 hours per week.
