Job Title: Senior Category Manager

Are you an experienced Senior Category Manager seeking to join an ambitious team within one of the UK\’s most complex and largest NHS Trusts? The Senior Category Manager will lead the Corporate category team and play a key role in developing and implementing the new Procurement and Supply Chain operating model and strategy across Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and the ‘Smart Together’ Shared Service for corporate services procurement.

We are embarking on an exciting transformation journey to enhance our operations and deliver greater value to the Trusts we serve. We are seeking a forward-thinking and innovative Senior Category Manager to oversee our corporate procurement category and manage a large, complex procurement program. Your role will involve developing our commercial approach through Category Management and Strategic Sourcing, collaborating with the senior leadership team, and fostering a high-performing, trust-based culture.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Reporting to the Associate Director of Non-Clinical Procurement and participating in their leadership team.
  2. Leading change through innovative procurement practices, ensuring contract compliance, reducing costs, and improving patient care.
  3. Providing expert procurement advice and support to stakeholders.
  4. Developing and managing relationships between stakeholders and procurement.
  5. Engaging with multi-functional teams across Guy’s, St Thomas’, and the Shared Service.
  6. Collaborating with clinicians, service managers, suppliers, professional bodies, partner organisations, and system colleagues.
  7. Leading corporate procurement programs and supporting the implementation of category and sourcing strategies across a complex project portfolio.
