Job Description
Essentia, part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, is seeking to recruit Senior Asset Manager to lead on property and asset management across the Trust’s diverse estate portfolio.
One of the largest NHS Trusts in the country with around 22,700 staff, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust comprises five of the UK’s best-known hospitals – Guy’s, St Thomas’, Evelina London Children’s Hospital, Royal Brompton and Harefield – as well as community services in Lambeth and Southwark, all with a long history of high-quality care, clinical excellence, research and innovation. We are among the UK’s busiest, most successful foundation trusts. We provide specialist care for patients including heart and lung, cancer and renal services as well as a full range of local hospital and community services for people in Lambeth and Southwark.
Essentia Group is part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. Responsible for non- clinical healthcare services, Essentia designs, builds and maintains healthcare infrastructure vital to the smooth running of healthcare services. This encompasses everything from construction projects and healthcare planning to waste management, housekeeping, transport and security. Essentia employs around 1,900 people, who provide essential support to clinical teams working across the acute hospital of Guy’s and St Thomas’, Royal Brompton and Harefield as well as the South East London Community and other partner Trusts. It combines high standards and public sector values with a commercial focus, innovative thinking and modern technology to create the best possible patient experience.
As the Trust’s Senior Asset Manager, you will support the Assistant Director for Property and Asset Management in the delivery of the Trust’s property strategy. You will be part of a small in-house property team and will be responsible for a varied workload including acquisitions, disposals, landlord and tenant matters, service charge budgeting and business rates.
The role will work collaboratively with all internal and external stakeholders to provide expert property advice and assurance that Trust property interests are proactively managed, ensuring best value and optimisation across a diverse London portfolio of 130 premises.
We are seeking Chartered Surveyors with a track record in property and asset management, experience in delivering technically complex property transactions combined with highly effective stakeholder management skills. This experience may have been gained in a client-side role, or within a consultancy environment on behalf of relevant client organisations.
The role offers the opportunity to play a crucial role in the future development of one the UK’s largest healthcare portfolios, creating an environment that in turn will make a fantastic difference to so many. The Candidate Brief can be viewed and downloaded here.
