The main purpose of this role is to lead the delivery, maintenance, and improvement of endoscopy training in South East London (SEL). The manager will work closely with the SEL Acute Provider Collaborative (APC) and the London Endoscopy Training Academy (LETA) to develop strategy, report on progress, expand training provision, and engage stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and deliver ongoing improvement projects within the endoscopy training portfolio.
  • Lead project planning, day‑to‑day delivery, performance management, and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with Executive Directors, Senior Managers, and LETA to ensure staff experience and service delivery excellence.
  • Support and develop training opportunities across SEL, focusing on strategy, training provision, access to training, and broader strategic planning.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to manage interdependencies and meet objectives.
  • Adapt project portfolios in response to evolving organisational priorities.

South East London is a Wave 3 Integrated Care System. The three acute providers—Guy's and St Thomas', King’s College Hospital, and Lewisham & Greenwich—work together through the SEL Acute Provider Collaborative (APC) to improve patient outcomes and system performance.

Professional / Statutory Registration

  • First‑level registered Nurse
  • Meets NMC revalidation standards

Education / Qualifications

  • Endoscopy training: JAG certified clinical endoscopists or JETS workforce training Endo 1‑3 / equivalent
  • Leadership training
  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing, health, or management‑related studies
  • Qualification in teaching and assessing in clinical practice

Experience and Knowledge

  • Understanding of operational and strategic challenges in South East London services
  • Commitment to high‑quality, patient‑centred care and innovative service design
  • Experience operating in politically sensitive environments
  • Experience managing risks and reporting
  • Experience leading small groups
  • Currently employed within the network specialty in a South East London acute provider trust
  • Experience driving change in complex environments without organisational or professional bias

Skills and Abilities

  • Analyse complex issues with conflicting material from multiple sources
  • Numerate with excellent analytical skills; proficient in Excel for data analysis and presentation
