We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic team player to join our patient transport services team at Royal Brompton Hospital, London. You must be a professional, caring, and dedicated individual working Monday to Friday who has excellent customer service skills. The successful candidate will work as part of our administration team, responsible for ensuring patients are eligible to access our ambulance services, and have the ability to use dispatch booking systems & patient administration systems. Handle patient queries with a high standard of empathy and understanding, focusing on customer satisfaction at all times. You must have a good phone manner and excellent communication skills.

The main duties for this position include:

  • Carrying out eligibility assessments for patients to access ambulance transport services.
  • Organising patient journeys using our ambulance dispatch system.
  • Organising car services on behalf of staff and patients with financial approval from senior management.
  • Organising courier services within Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals for transporting medical and non-medical packages and documents in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
  • Organising patient parking at Royal Brompton Hospital using the in-house parking management system.

Essentia plays a fundamental role in supporting the activities of the Trust, focusing on providing a high-quality hospital environment and experience through support services and a patient-focused approach. The Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) is part of Essentia. It provides transport for patients who cannot travel by other means due to their medical or mobility conditions. Requests are assessed based on medical need, and vehicles are equipped accordingly, including cars, wheelchair-accessible vehicles, ambulances, and high-dependency units, using specialist equipment such as wheelchairs, stretchers, carry chairs, and stair climbers.
