Role Description
GuyKat has a vacancy for a Learning Experience Designer within our Content team. This role is focused on designing engaging, effective, and impactful digital learning experiences for our clients. You will work closely with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to understand learning needs and translate them into creative, learner-centred solutions. You will be responsible for shaping learning journeys, designing storyboards, and creating content that balances instructional integrity with engaging user experiences. This may include eLearning modules, videos, blended learning solutions, and other digital formats. You will lead learning design projects from initial client engagement through to final delivery. This includes running virtual and face-to-face client sessions, facilitating workshops, gathering and shaping requirements, presenting design concepts, and guiding solutions through to implementation. You will collaborate closely with other Learning Experience Designers to bring your concepts to life, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with client goals throughout. As part of a team that is constantly evolving, you will contribute to internal innovation, exploring new tools, technologies, and approaches to enhance the learning experiences we deliver. In this role, you will work collaboratively to deliver high-quality solutions that go above and beyond client expectations. It requires a genuine passion for learning design, creativity, and problem-solving, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
The Ideal Candidate
Previous experience in instructional design, learning experience design, or digital content creation would be an advantage, but not essential. What matters most is that you are creative, curious, and passionate about designing meaningful learning experiences. You should be confident in your ability to communicate ideas clearly, both visually and verbally, and be comfortable working with clients to shape solutions. You enjoy taking ownership, solving problems, and collaborating with others to achieve great outcomes. A self-starter who is eager to learn, you can absorb new information quickly and apply it effectively. You are organised, proactive, and able to manage your time across multiple projects. Due to an increasing volume of work from the US, candidates who can offer flexibility in their working hours (including some hybrid or adjusted hours) would be advantageous.
Required Skills:
- Understanding of instructional design principles
- Experience creating digital learning content (e.g. eLearning, video, PDFs blended learning, etc.)
- Strong written and visual communication skills
- Ability to design engaging, learner-centred experiences in authoring tools such as Articulate, Vyond, FLOWSPARKS, Colossyan or similar
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal teams
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- High attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Adaptable and open to feedback
- Understanding of common workplace tools (e.g. Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Zoom, Teams)
- Interest in emerging learning technologies and trends
Desirable (but not essential):
- Ability to write proposals, tenders, and pitches, including designing solutions, defining pricing, and setting scope
- Familiarity with LMS platforms (e.g. Docebo)
- Knowledge of Trello and other project management tools
