About Us
Guy Taylor Associates is a small, award-winning architectural practice with a long history, established in 1969. We’ve built our reputation on thoughtful, well-crafted architecture and long-term relationships with our clients. Our work is varied, but often centres on bespoke projects, including heritage and listed buildings, where careful design, technical understanding, and attention to detail really matter. As a studio, we’re collaborative and supportive. We work closely as a team, sharing ideas openly and backing each other’s projects, while still giving individuals the space to take real ownership and shape outcomes.
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Architect to join our team — someone who enjoys being properly involved in projects and is looking for a greater level of ownership. This role would suit someone currently in a larger practice who wants to step into a more engaged, design-led environment, with the opportunity to take the lead on projects and see them through from concept to completion. You’ll be involved across all RIBA stages, with a particular focus on technical design, detailing, and delivery on site, while having the opportunity to take real creative control within a supportive studio setting.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Taking a lead role on projects, particularly through technical and construction stages
- Producing clear, well-considered technical drawings and details
- Developing designs from early concept through to completion
- Working closely with clients, consultants, and contractors
- Contributing to design development across a range of bespoke projects
- Being involved in heritage and listed building work
- Supporting and engaging with team members within a collaborative studio
What We’re Looking For
- A qualified Architect (ARB registered or equivalent)
- Solid experience in UK architectural practice
- Strong technical knowledge and detailing ability
- Experience running projects or taking significant responsibility within a team
- An interest in, or experience with, heritage and conservation work
- Someone who enjoys working collaboratively in a small, supportive team
- A proactive approach and the confidence to take ownership of projects
Why Join Us
- Real ownership and involvement across your projects
- Opportunity to take creative control within a supportive team environment
- Work on bespoke, often sensitive schemes where your input genuinely matters
- Be part of a small, collaborative studio rather than a layered structure
- Opportunity to grow within a long-established and respected practice
Salary £36,000 – £48,000 depending on experience, with scope for progression as responsibility grows.
Apply: Please send your CV and portfolio — we’d be happy to have an informal conversation.
